SCVUSD Foundation Programs

We’re excited about the programs in place to help us carry out our mission to enhance the education of Santa Cruz Valley students. We invite you to lend your support in any way you can.

Excellence in Education Awards Banquet

The foundation honors the top five percent of the graduating class at Rio Rico High School with an Excellence in Education Awards Banquet. All of the honored graduates select a teacher who has been most influential to them. We honor SCVUSD’s highest achieving students and the most influential teachers at the banquet. Honored students receive a $500 scholarship to help them continue their education, and the influential educators receive a special plaque.

$1000 CTE Scholarship

We’re happy to announce our Career and Technical Education Scholarship program. Starting in 2017,  a student at Rio Rico High School will be selected to receive a $1000 scholarship. Students must complete an application and participate in an interview. We will present the award at the annual Rio Rico High School Honors Assembly held in May.

Teacher Education Enhancement Grant

In partnership with the Benchmark Foundation of Tubac, SCVUSD Foundation awards $3600 to help provide an outstanding educator with the opportunity to enhance his or her education in a specific subject area. The purpose of this award is to support an outstanding educator from Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District in his or her desire to enhance subject area knowledge, to add additional certifications, or to support personal growth. The dollars available to the foundation for this grant have generously been provided by The Benchmark Foundation of Tubac and the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa.

To apply for the grant, the teacher must be one of the influential educators from the Excellence in Education Awards Banquet or a Teacher of the Year as selected by one of the buildings in Santa Cruz Valley USD #35.

Additional SCVUSD Foundation Initiatives

The foundation provides monetary recognition awards honoring Santa Cruz Valley USD No. 35 employees of the year, as selected by their peers. 

SCVUSD Foundation also supports the Back-To-School Blitz that the district holds annually in July. This activity provides needed school supplies for Santa Cruz Valley USD students.
